Lord of the Rings Returns

Lord of the Rings (LOTR), a Musical based on J. R. R. Tolkien's epic trillogy opened last year in Toronto, ran for a six months and failed to make back it's $25 million investment. It's being returned to the stage, this time in London at Theater Royal, Drury Lane with another $25million investment. They are trimming 40 minutes and minor characters, subplots and changing the pacing to try to improve the show. Someone sure believes in this show.

The Toronto production was highly criticised for it's running time, (over three and a half hours!) as well as it being murky, and too much to handle.
