Update on Disney's High School Musical

This is the Musical (TV Movie) that for the first time in a long time, has gone mainstream. Link to Official High School Musical Site. Topping the Billboard Charts just seven weeks after the airing, and topping the cart for a second time. It's been in the news a fair amount lately.

From BroadwayWorld: Including funny insightful thoughts of High school age actors.
In light of the recent phenomenal success of Disney Channel's Original Feature
High School Musical, BroadwayWorld decided to go on a little journey of its own
into the world of "High School" musicals. I got in touch with 18 (the average HS
graduation age) Broadway performers and asked them: first, for a list of their
high school credits, and secondly, what immediately comes to mind when they
think back on that time. I think that you'll find their answers both funny and
serious, but without a doubt, that those formative years clearly affected the
pathway to their present.
From Playbill: News that there is plans to make the musical a stage play. I think it's likely to join the ranks of "Grease", "Everything Goes" and other musicals making the High School Circuit.

Disney Theatrical Productions (DTP) announced April 6 that it will release
a stage version of the Disney Channel's wildly successful TV musical, "High
School Musical," for local productions beginning this fall.

The script
and score, borrowed from the wildly popular Disney Channel movie will be
modified for the stage (no librettist has been announced), and licensed via
Music Theatre International (MTI).
