This weekend, Oliver was really good - last night was what felt like the best performance so far. Timmy was there to see it - which was wonderful. It felt like we were really connecting with the audience, a difficult task at times. Oliver! is not a light musical - it deals with some pretty dark topics, child labor, slavery, exploitation ...
Which is why it being incorporated into a fund raising effort for Human Rights Watch, Children's Division - it really feels like a good match. We'll be having a Gala Performance this Thursday with all proceeds going to Human Rights Watch. You can visit The Oliver! Project Website.
