Return of a Classic or Same Old Thing

We're seeing lots of revivals these days, Kiss Me Kate, 42nd Street, A Chorus Line, Chicago, Grease, and so on... the NY Times had an article on revivals, specifically Les Miz ...
But a recent announcement from the megaproducer Cameron Mackintosh may make that old business plan seem downright experimental. He is remounting an old
production in its entirety. Actually not an old production; he is restaging a
very recent production, "Les Misérables," which hasn't been seen on the New York
stage in, oh, several long months.

Overkill? or has broadway just become stale?
