Music Man Auditions

Tuesday night Gale and I went to the Music Man Auditions at Rhinebeck Performing Arts Center. Neither of us auditioned particularly well - mostly due to the fact it was a last minute decision. There were a lot of adorable children, some of which sang better then others, all of which had a lot of enthusiasm. You couldn't help but smile.

The Director is Broadways own Herman Sebek - star of Miss Saigon and the original cast of Cats. He was wonderful with the children, funneling their energy into the direction he needed them to take. I think he would be excellent to work with. Miriam Mahdaviani, star of The New York City Ballet, will be the assistant director.

Although I don't think I'll get a part, it would be an awesome show to do. Casts with children are always so much fun. Children bring such energy and enthusiasm to a production. As a bonus you're almost guaranteed 'family appropriate' costumes, so you don't have to worry about going on stage in a hot glued skimpy dress!
