Auditions for The Michael J. Quill Irish Cultural Centre

The Michael J. Quill Irish Cultural Centre with the Durham Irish Repertory Theater (D.I.R.T.) announce auditions for their summer season, The Odd Couple and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

Auditions will be held 7PM, March 30 & 31 (Odd Couple) and 7PM April 6 & 7 (Joseph) at Weldon House, Rt. 145 East Durham. Needed for Odd Couple are five male character actors of various ages to portray Felix and Oscar's poker buddies. Please come prepared to read from the script. Needed for Joseph are fourteen male actor/singers of various ages to portray Joseph, Jacob and his twelve sons and female singers for chorus. Please prepare an uptempo Broadway song and be familiar with the score. Also dress comfortably for a movement audition. Call 518-719-0633 with any questions.

Lie of the Mind Auditions

STAR MOUNTAINVILLE GROUP is Casting Sam Shepard’s A LIE OF THE MIND.

Shepard’s masterpiece about tortured love, spousal abuse and the ultimate dysfunctional American Family. Production will run either mid-May to mid-June or throughout June for 4 weekends.

Auditions will be: Sunday March 9th from 12 - 3pm and Wednesday March 26th from 6:00 to 8:30 pm at Mohonk Arts - 186 Mohonk Road in High Falls. Located ¾ mile up Mohonk Road from High Falls CafĂ©. Sides will be provided.

Roles:
Jake: late 20's to late 30's, a combustible force and a wife-beater who is obsessed with Beth.
Frankie: 20's to late 30's: Jake's compassionate brother, who attempts to rectify matters with no thought to his own welfare.
Mike: 20's to 30's. Beth's vengeful brother whose solution to the dilemma is violence.
Baylor: 50's to 70's: a man dedicated to life's simple pleasures; sick of life's tribulations.
Lorraine: 50's to 70's, given to great flights of fancy, a veteran of a brutally painful marriage.
Meg: 50's to 70's, a Montana ranch housewife, very devoted to husband and less so to children.
Beth: late 20's to late 30's, Jake’s wife and an actress – a victim of domestic violence, fighting to get her speech back.
Sally: early 20's, Jake’s sister, a spirited young woman ready to take on the world.
